What is Feed the Need? - It is a one day coordinated community outreach even uniting Willow Oak Baptist Church, the Florida Baptist Children's Home, and Publix. What is the purpose? - For the community and the church to join as the body of Christ to help feed hungry children and families in Polk County. How can I participate - The easiest way is the invite your family and friends to church on October 6th. We would love to have 500 people in attendance. On that day, we will be giving everyone who is in attendance $10 and a shopping list. When we dismiss, we will go to the Publix on Shepherd Rd in Mulberry, where we will shop for the food, sort the food, and pack the food to be delivered to the schools. This food is delivered to children who, without this, may not get to eat from the time they leave school on Friday until they return on Monday. If you can't be with us, you can participate by purchasing Publix gift cards, or giving a check to WOBC with Feed the Need in the memo. Drop your donations off to our church office and we will shop for you.
